Welcome to Gig Harbor Fishing. I created this site as a way to share the things I have learned over 35 years of sportfishing experience in Washington State and to stimulate discussion about the sport I love.
I love fishing but I would rather help others catch than to catch myself. Nothing in the world compares to the look on a kids face when he catches his first salmon.
I don’t consider myself an expert but I have picked up a few things. I am not a biologist but I have some opinions that I have learned from people that have gone before me.
Mostly this page is for beginners but there is good info for more experienced anglers too. I have experienced first hand how hard it is to break into a new fishery or learn the local tricks. You’ve either got to know someone or hang around long enough to decipher the “code”. I intend GHF to be your local fishing friend. Here you can learn techniques that you can use to catch salmon right away (as long as there are fish around). Hopefully you will also feel comfortable enough here to ask your questions and if I can’t answer I know guys that can.
Your responsibility is going to be to fill me in on your success (with pictures), whats going on in your area and and let me know what you hear around.
Together everyone achieves more. Let’s have some fun!!
Good Fishin’ To Ya’

I saw your video on rigging Tomic plugs. Question do you sell them rigged?
Thanks
Gary
I don’t sell them but it’s pretty easy to rig. I think you can get them at sportsman’s warehouse. Right now in the south sound I am always pulling a 109 (white with pink head).
