Thanks Eliot,

I agree Furuno has the most feature rich equipment out there. I checked out the new NavNet 3D stuff and it still seems more complicated to use than Garmin. I believe this is because it is more functional but still. I haven't decided yet which rig is best for me but you are right also when you say Furuno is the choice of the professionals I know that make their living on the water.

On the other hand double warranty and a tech guy right down the street are powerful reasons to look at Garmin. Garmin has all the features I need and is less complicated to use. Either way I'm enjoying the process.

God Bless and thanks again

Dear Kerry:
I have more than 30 years boating and fishing - California and south. I have spent the last 3 years studying which electronics to buy for my next boat. In the short if you don't use your boat but several times a year - Garmin will surfice. Use your boat to fish and survive the northwest and the only conclusion is Furuno! By and large they beat all the other brands hands down for reliability, functionality, ease of use, and cost. Check out the new Furuno 3D packages with at least a 15" monitor (you have to see where you're going!). I am a retired pastor and I'm not paid by any of the manufactures or dealers to say what's been said. I hope this helps you. God bless and keep you and yours.
