Gig Harbors own Legend ran aground on Monday near Bostwick Point, about 8 miles south of Ketchikan Alaska. Apparently She ran aground, healed over and the diesel stove caught fire and she burned up 2000 lbs of fish and 700 gallons of fuel. All 5 crew members were rescued. The report says the owner is working with the coast guard to salvage the boat.

The legend spends the winter at my dock and I was down to go fishing on June 30th when she left the harbor and got some pictures of her leaving the harbor. It’s kinda sad but we can be hopeful that she will be salvaged and thankful that everyone is OK.

Good Fishin' To Ya'

As most people that have read my blog for any length of time know I am in the aviation business. I don’t write much about that because, for the most part, it doesn’t have anything to do with fishing. So when my friend Super Dave McNeel shared this story I decided I needed to put it up. Thanks Dave:
