WDFW has approved razor clam digging for this weekend on four of the five beaches. Low tide for Friday is supposed to be around 4:30 so the best digging will start around 2:00pm. That means no lanterns no headlights just go get some!!!!

Hoping to go out to Ocean Shores to dig some Razor Clams on Friday. Assuming the weather cooperates.  Thinking I’ll go around through Shelton to avoid the traffic. Tide is -2 at about 6:30pm so were hoping to get out there around 5ish load up and come home.

Ocean shores is open Friday but not Saturday. For full details on what is open and what isn’t check this link.

Coastal razor clam digging got the green light from WDFW today for Twin Harbors Beach from Dec. 3rd through the 6th. The other four beaches, Copalis, Mocrocks, Long Beach and Kalaloch, will be open for Dec. 4th and 5th.

Remember you have to have a license if you are over 15 and there is no digging before noon.

Dan Ayres, WDFW coastal shellfish manager, said diggers heading to Copalis and Mocrocks should be aware of a traffic revision on eastbound U.S. Highway 101 in Hoquiam due to emergency work on the Simpson Avenue Bridge.

“This is the only route to those beaches, so people should allow extra travel time to make sure they arrive on time,” Ayres said. He advises diggers to check the Washington Department of Transportation website for updated information at http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/us101/simpsonbridgepierrepair/

If you are heading up to Copalis or Mocrocks you should check out my buddy Bryant’s North Beach Motel just north of Ocean Shores.

This is great fun for the whole family. My kids love it.
